Credit Union Trends: September 2017

Our latest Credit Union Trends Report (issued in September) shows that credit union loan balances rose 1.1 percent in July, above the 0.9 percent pace reported in July 2016.

Credit unions originated a record $67.5 billion in the first half of 2017, a 6.6 percent increase over the $63.3 billion in originations in the first half of 2016.

And, credit union memberships grew a strong 454,000 in July, or 0.4 percent, similar to the 452,000 new members added in July 2016.
